Taster Sessions - See if beekeeping is for you, 13 May and 10 August 2016 - Cost £20 

 

Put on a suit and explore the inner working of a beehive, learn about what beeleeping

is all about in this morning session.

 

 

 

Weekend Course - 11-12 June 2016 - Cost £130 

 

Two intensive but fun days, a mix of theory and practice covering the entire beekeeping year

 

 

 

 

Spring New Beekeeper Course - Starting 25 May 2016 for 6 weeks - Cost £100  

 

A course run on Wednesday evenings during during the most active period of the beekeeping season

in spring and early summer.

 

Weekly sessions during March/April including theory behind beekeeping, and practical hands-on training.

 

This course runs over 6 conscutive Wednesday evenings from  May 6th through June 10th 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

Winter New Beekeeper Course - Starting 31 August 2016 ending in April 2017 - Cost £100  

 

This course has 10 sessions spread over 7 months, with 3 practical classes in April 2017

 

 

 

 

Improver Sessions

 

Beyond our taster sessions and introduction to beekeeping courses we offer ongoing hands-on training for members on selected Wednesday evenings during the Spring and Summer alongside our team of experienced beekeepers.

 

 

BBKA Basic Assessment

 

After keeping bees for one year you wil be eligible to take the BBKA Basic Assessment.  We hold a training weekend for this every year, usually in the late Summer.  The first day is an intensive refresher, followed on the Sunday by a short one to one practical assesment.  Leeds Beekeepers Associaton constantly strives to improve the knowledge and ongoing education of its members; to encourage you to undertake the Basic Assesment, the fee for the Assessment will be refunded for Leeds Beekeepers Association Full and Family Members.   For further details of our BBKA Basic Assessment Weekend please contact our Education Officer.

 

 

BBKA Modules

Members of Leeds Beekeepers Associaton can attend tutorials that cover the BBKA Modules, usually run through the winter months by the Yorkshire Beekeepers Association, free of charge.
